I just sold something to someone who asked a question during the auction about shipping to Canada. I gave her a price and approximate delivery time, and she bid on and won the auction. Then she gives me a shipping address in England! My auction clearly states that I ship just to U.S. and Canada, plus she specifically asked about Canada. I sent her an e-mail asking her why she gave an address in England, and she hasn't responded yet but rather went ahead and paid, even though I didn't send her an invoice. Has anything like this happened to you? What did/would you do? I don't even know what it would cost to send it to England or if I even want to mess with shipping overseas. Thanks!

If you don't want to bother with shipping to the UK, you are entitled to refund her money and file the report to get reimbursed for your final value fees.
If the PO gave you a quote for shipping to Canada, you can work out the weight by working backwards on the USPS site (under calculate international). Then you can use that same calculator to figure out what shipping to the UK would be.
Hope this helps.

I've had good dealings with people in Canada but won't ship out of the US anymore. So, my advice would be to only ship to US addresses from now on.
As for your current situation, I go along with refunding her money & filing to get your final value fees back. If she leaves you a negative feedback, then you can say why you refunded. If you don't want to go that route, go to the post office to find out how much to send to England?

Do you still have the email from her requesting the rate to Canada? Shipping to England will be considerably more expensive.
I've shipped internationally many times and the one time there was a problem was with a package sent to Canada. If the package will weigh under 3lbs, it can be sent airmail letter post, which would get there in under 10 days and would be the cheapest method. Call you post office tomorrow, because I believe that there is now some automatic insurance included with international shipping on packages that weigh over 1lb. Find out if you would get some sort of tracking number.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do and keep us updated.

Maybe her address listed with Paypal and Ebay is England, but she wants you to ship to Canada.
I'd email her and ask, reminding her about her question.
I've had international buyers have me ship to friends of theirs in the US, and then they get their items from them, especially if they know a student studying here,
that can bring the item home with them.
I'd check out all scenarios before just refunding and cancelling her purchase.

Thanks, Mary Kate!
I guess I need to find out how much it would cost to ship to England -- I imagine that it's more than what she paid me (the US/Canada price stated in the auction). I really don't want to deal with her at all, though, since she lied to me. Unfortunately, SHE will be able to leave negative feedback for ME, no matter what I do about it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
And just when selling on eBay was going so good for me (I've only been doing it for about 3 weeks)!
